Ian Briggs - blues harmonica player
Ian Briggs has been playing the harmonica since he was fourteen years old and living in Twickenham, West London.
Early inspirations included the playing of Cyril Davies with Alexis Korner in the early sixties and the artists (and legends) he saw playing at Eel Pie Island, The Crawdaddy Club and the L'Auberge Coffee Bar.
Ian appears regularly at festivals and venues across the UK and Ireland with his band the Supervampers and alongside blues guitarist, singer and songwriter Jim Crawford. See the gig guide here for details of upcoming performances.
In 2004, Ian Briggs and the Supervampers released the long-awaited studio album 'Blues Avenue' - of mostly original self-penned numbers - with guest vocalists Maggie Reeday and Sarah Randle. The album has received great reviews and airplay both here and in Europe. You can preview and buy a copy of the album here.
